New blog theme & layout
I was motivated to change my theme when I read the blog post from a fellow neighbour's website stpercy . I have been trying to update my theme with a few considerations in mind.
- Soothing colors for the website background & fonts.
- Adding communications attributes ( Reply via email)
- Tried to minimize usage of JavaScript
Add Consideration change with modifications:
- Native fonts ( fast & tracker free)
- Bologroll (still in construction)
For those that don't want to read here the code of Usama Insights theme as Unlicense. you can use it, modify it & do whatever you like
Copy & Inspiration from around the web
- Code source:
From the website of Simone ( taken permission to use it.)
- Modified Reply-via-email thing:
From website stpercy
- Cool underline Link hover:
I don't have a link, forgot to bookmark it ;(
- Simple footer:
Inspired by the Codepen website
- Upvote button :
Kinda mixed of source code, mine & stpercy
Scraped ideas
1 . Navigation menu: I tried to re-create something similar to right-side bottom navigation menu with only pure CSS code but couldn't achieve it. So, moved on.
- Tried to use Google fonts & Inter font from RSMS:
Both fonts are heavy delay loading time and so I only used web fonts & system fonts.
- Tried Highlight.Cool:
It's a cool idea to highlight when visitors want to highlight a line or word of a website post just like a medium. Due to the script loading time at that time is 1000ms. So, I removed it. I did communicate the issues with the dev and he improved it, kind guy.
